New Film Releases Friday June 11, 2010

Can you believe this? They’re pushing two recycled movies to us this week. The A-Team is a remake of the 70 tv smash that propelled Mr. T to super tv stardom. Without him and George Peppard this will be hard fo me to watch, so I’m waiting until it comes out on Netflicks. Karate Kid has been resurrected with Jackie Chan playing the venerable role of Mr. Miyagi( I’m not sure if that’s his name in the movie) and Jaden Smith playing the title role. It’s a shame that young Jaden doesn’t get to star in an original film that would show him as an up and coming young actor who can carry a new film all on his own. Having to play the role that we’ve all associated with Ralph Machio for decades could hurt him more than help, because he will always be compared to the original. I’m considering it just because I do love Jackie Chan movies.

The other two films look like they could be very entertaining, but they are only opening in limited release. If one of them is opening near you get the first look and send me a review so I can post it. Have a great weekend everyone.
