Rome – Italy
Rome is a city alive with a feeling of great history. The whole time we were there I kept feeling like I was lucky to be in a place where civilization had its beginnings. When I think about the things that took place here over the course of two and a half millenia I’m humbled and awestruck. We were only able to spend one day in Rome because of a flight scheduled for early the next morning. We spent the day at the Vatican Museum and stayed at the Hotel Albani for the night. The Vatican complex is immense and filled with rare and fantastic treasures from floor to ceiling in almost every wing. The hotel was clean and the service was excellent. I tried to capture as many memories on this trip as I could, but soon realized this would not be the last time I came here. Rome marked the end of our Grand Mediterranean Adventure. We shared a trip to Europe with family and grew closer through our shared experience. We made new friends and saw great artifacts from around the world. I’m looking forward to the next adventure and hope that some of you will join us in the future. Traveling gives you an altered perspective on the world and you realize it’s really a very small place and we owe it to ourselves to meet those special friends that we would never know if we don’t out and find them.
